-About Wandering Stories-The world is made up of stories, an unbelievably complex tapestry of experience. I’ve always wanted to find out some of these stories, of those around me and those across the globe. And so I started Wandering Stories, a project where I trek across the country meeting people and collecting stories. My first venture will be hitch-hiking across Scotland and maybe into England too, listening to the stories I meet and chronicling them in a blog.
That’s not happening till Autumn 2016, so until then I’ll be posting about my preparations for that journey – working in Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival to raise money, assembling kit and hitch-hiking around the local area in my spare time. If you live in the UK and you have somewhere nearby that has a story to tell – a landmark, a cool looking stone, even a man in a shop drinking tea – please let me know! I want to hear as many stories as I can. You can check out the Wandering Stories Facebook Page here. |
-About Three Thousand Words-
In December 2015 I spent about 10 days writing a short story each night based off a prompt, in order to develop my writing skill.
That set off this idea, and now I’m trying to expand it beyond my head, which eventually led to Three Thousand Words.Three Thousand Words is a side project of mine, partly to keep myself occupied while I prepare for my travels and partly to explore the inspiration that a single phrase can engender.
I’m looking for your prompts, your stories, your ideas. Either send me a short story you’ve written and I’ll feature it on the page, or a prompt you want to see transformed into a story, and I’ll do my best to write it!
You could, if the fancy took you, check out the Three Thousand Words Facebook Page here. You crazy beast.
