So this weekend I've decided to throw up a middle finger to responsibility and go for a couple days hitchhike. I've got a tent, a stove that I can borrow and a few teabags. What more could one want.
I haven't a proper plan yet, but where I live in rural Scotland doesn't have a lot of directions you can go very far in before you hit the sea, so I'm thinking I'll head East-ish and hitch-hike till it gets dark.

I don't have a voice recorder yet, so I don't think I'll be able to collect many stories, but I have a notebook and a sort-of good memory, so I'll try and remember all that I hear from the strangers I meet.
On a personal note, I annoyingly got a rejection from a job I had hoped to get in Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival. I was hoping it would give me enough hours to work solidly through August and emerge with enough funds to be able to set off straight away on my travels. Doesn't look like that's the case; with that job at least. I have a few more to hear back from, and if they're unsuccessful I'll have to re-evaluate. But hey ho, such are tales made from.
